Halo 3 Tips and Tricks: Lesson 4 Strafing

Strafing is one of the most important tips for you to learn when you encounter a battle with the enemy in Halo 3.

Their are different types of strafing that you can use for Halo 3.

Important: When attempting to strafe during a fire fight, BE SURE to not turn your back to the opponent and run away! If you are in a fire fight and you feel like you are about to lose because your enemy has one more shot on you, jumping for the last shot works fine if you are good at it. Because this makes you opponent disrupt his rhythm and possibly miss you for the last kill shot.

Types of Strafes

  • SHORT STRAFE: A short side to side movement that allows you more time to get in more shots on your enemy.
  • LONG STRAFE: A  long side to side movement, typically left to right or right to left depending on if you are right or left handed.

Make sure you practice BR battles in close and far confrontations…

Important Tip: Lead your target when engaging in a Battle Rifle fight.. This will almost guarantee a 4 shot BR kill.
